Some of Australia's finest swimmers hit up Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre last weekend for the 2021 Sydney Open and Uni Nationals. The meet was one of the last hit outs before next month's Trials. Our Funky Trunks F-Teamers put in some great swims, including a standout performance by 17-year-old young gun Isaac Cooper who topped the men's 50m Backstroke podium. It was a big week of racing up on the Gold Coast at the 2021 Australian Swimming Championships with our F-Teamers taking on massive race schedules across the five days. After a tumultuous year, it was an excellent opportunity for the swimmers to see where they're sitting in the lead up to Trials that will take place in June in Adelaide. Highlights from the event included long distance Olympian Jack McLoughlin's two medals in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle events, a Silver and Bronze respectively.

A huge congratulations to all the F-Teamers who competed at the British Swimming Selection Trials. Despite the challenges they have faced this past year, with the lack of pool time and endless zoom sessions, the competition was filled with countless PBs, medals and qualification times. The Irish Trials will take place from April 20-24 at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. One year later than planned, and the meet originally called the Irish Open Meet, swimmers will descend on Dublin with the hope of filling their lifelong dreams. USC Swim Club had a great start to the Australian Swimming Championships with Blake Cochrane claiming bronze on night 1 in 100m Breaststroke in a time of 1:18.52, along with Jacob Templeton also claiming bronze in his 50m Freestyle in a personal best time of 24.69 proving they are both in fine form in the lead up to the trials!
