Leah Ready To Go Faster
Sport can be bittersweet at times, particularly when one is at the highest level. The progression from European Junior Champion to open racing for Funkita F-Teamer Leah Schlosshan took her agonisingly close to Olympic selection at the 2024 British Olympic Trials in April.
The 19-year-old City of Leeds swimmer, finished 5th in the 200m freestyle, just 0.1 seconds from 4th and selection on the British team for a coveted relay position.
"I was pretty nervous going into the meet and was really frustrated that I missed out on the Olympic team by such a small margin.”
Although disappointed, Leah achieved new personal best times in almost every event she contested and made finals in all her events with 4th in both the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke and 8th in the 200 Breaststroke.
She has bounced back with strong performances at the European Championships in Belgrade, and after some down time, will plan her next 4 years towards the 2028 Olympic Trials where she's hoping to finally achieve her Olympic dream.
